'Close your bodily eye, so that you may see your picture first with your spiritual eye, then bring to the light of day that which you have seen in the darkness so that it may react on others from the outside inwards.' His works are amazing, aren't they? I have just found a nice online gallery. The works are divided according to time periods and you can see the bigger version always when clicking on it. www.wga.hu/frames-e.html?/html/f/friedric/index.html

wow he really liked painting landscapes eh? I think I enjoy better his works between 1821 and 1824, specially the one called "The Sea Of Ice": www.wga.hu/art/f/friedric/3/309fried.jpgThe way the lighting came out is impressive to me and also I enjoy a lot the fact that even though the general composition of the painting is very "canonical" the irregularities within it make it stand out a bit from the common and give it a very deep visual richness. Which one do you like the best?

it does resemble my avatar... it's strange... reminds me of a series of paintings by Salvador DalĂ that had the same composition [ but with different motives ] based on a Dutch painting or something. But I don't think my avatar is related to him in any way

They are... and I can't paint either, neither with the simplest things... crayons haha, I don't know... color is just not my thing... but maybe we should open another section \o/ hooray "painting lessons" or something ... of course when we have somebody who knows how to paint >_<
